Obverse description Laureate head of Domitian facing right, depicted with characteristic portrait features of the Flavian dynasty. The emperor's bust is rendered in high relief with fine engraving typical of Flavian aurei struck at the Rome Mint. A beaded border encircles the design. The obverse legend runs around the periphery, reading IMP CAES DOMITIANVS AVG P M, identifying Domitian in his full imperial titulature as Imperator, Caesar, Augustus, and Pontifex Maximus.
