Obverse description Laureate head of Domitian facing right, depicted as a young prince with short curly hair, the laurel wreath encircling the brow in the Flavian dynastic tradition. The bust is draped, with the paludamentum visible at the truncation. The circular Latin legend CAESAR AVG F DOMITIANVS runs around the periphery, identifying the subject as Caesar, son of Augustus (Vespasian). The coin is bordered by a prominent beaded torsion, characteristic of Flavian aureus production at the Rome mint.
