| Obverse description | Bare-headed bust of Clodius Albinus facing right, rendered with short curly hair and a short beard in the Antonine tradition, the portrait conveying a mature and commanding effigy. The truncation of the neck is plain, without drapery or paludamentum. The encircling Latin legend is disposed around the periphery of the flan, reading from left to right. The die work is characteristic of the western provincial mint active during Albinus's usurpation, displaying somewhat provincial engraving compared to contemporary Roman issues. |
