Six ornate columns support the entablature and dome, adorned at their capitals with decorative acroteria. Within the intercolumniation, an aquila (legionary eagle) is prominently displayed flanked by two military standards, commemorating the recovery of the Roman standards from Parthia. The legend MAR VLT is divided across the field to left and right of the temple, identifying the structure as the Temple of Mars Ultor.
