Obverse description Bare-headed, draped bust of the young Nero facing right, rendered in the early Julio-Claudian portraiture style with softly modeled features and layered hair swept forward over the brow. A circular Greek legend surrounds the effigy reading ΕΠΙ ΝΕΡΩΝΟϹ ΚΛΑΥΔΙΟΥ ΚΑΙϹΑΡΟϹ ϹΕΒΑϹΤΟΥ Β, denoting the second regnal year under Nero Claudius Caesar Augustus. The bust truncation is plain, and the portrait fills the field in a bold, slightly off-center die strike characteristic of provincial hammered coinage.
