Obverse description Laureate bust of Domitian facing right, with Greek legend surrounding the effigy. A rectangular countermark applied at the neck depicts a helmeted bust of Athena facing right, consistent with Howgego type 190. The countermark is deeply impressed into the bronze flan, partially obscuring the lower portion of the imperial portrait. The legends, though partially worn, identify the emperor as Domitian Caesar in Greek characters.
