The emperor wears a jewelled crown and elaborately decorated imperial regalia. The Greek legend ΜΑΝΥΗΛ ΔΕСΠΟΤΗС (Manuel Despotes) is inscribed in the fields flanking the figure, identifying the ruler by name and imperial title. |
