Christ is shown in the conventional Byzantine manner, wearing a tunic (chiton) and maphorion, with the right hand raised in benediction and the left hand holding the Gospels. The facial features, though worn, retain the solemn hieratic expression characteristic of Latin-period imitative coinage at Constantinople, with dotted border visible around the rim of the flan. |
