Obverse description The Grand Master Jacques de Milly depicted in profile facing right, kneeling in prayer before a large patriarchal cross set on steps, rendered in the Gothic style typical of Hospitaller coinage. To the right of the kneeling figure appears the armorial shield of the Grand Master, and a letter 'B' is visible in the lower field. The entire central design is enclosed within a beaded inner circle, with the Latin legend disposed around the periphery in uncial script.
