| Reverse description | The reverse field is entirely filled with a Persian verse (masnavi) in flowing nasta'liq script praising Shah Tahmasp II, arranged across three horizontal registers separated by ruled lines. The upper register contains the first hemistich of the poem, the central register the second hemistich along with the royal name Tahmasp Thani (Tahmasp II), and the lower register records the mint name Qazwin and the AH regnal year 1135 (AD 1723). The outer border consists of a continuous ring of large raised pellets identical to the obverse, consistent with Safavid hammered gold Ashrafi production. The calligraphy is deeply impressed in high relief, with the mint and date clearly legible in the lower field. |
