| Obverse description | The entire field is occupied by the Shi'ah Kalimah (Islamic declaration of faith as interpreted by Twelver Shi'ism) inscribed in bold naskh script across three horizontal lines, divided by ruled line borders. The legend reads: 'There is no god but Allah, Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, Ali is the Friend of Allah.' The inscription fills the coin to its borders, which are formed by a prominent outer ring of large raised pellets, characteristic of Safavid hammered gold coinage. The lettering is deeply struck in high relief against a flat field, with no figurative or decorative elements other than the calligraphic text itself. |
