Obverse description Central field occupied by the Shahada inscription in bold thuluth-style Arabic calligraphy, reading 'La ilaha illa Allah, Muhammad rasul Allah' (There is no god but God, Muhammad is the Messenger of God), arranged in multiple lines within an ornate cartouche. A surrounding marginal legend in cursive naskh script encircles the central device, containing additional religious or royal formulae. The die is struck on an irregularly shaped flan typical of Timurid hammered gold coinage, with the calligraphic elements deeply impressed into the soft gold fabric.
