| Obverse description | Struck in hammered gold, the irregularly shaped flan bears multiple lines of Arabic calligraphic legend filling the entire field in a characteristic Mamluk epigraphic style. The inscription, executed in a bold thuluth script, is arranged in horizontal registers across the coin's surface. The legends reference the ruling sultan's titulature and religious formulae typical of Mamluk gold coinage. The flan edges are uneven, consistent with hand-hammered production methods of the period. |
