Obverse description Central field dominated by a bold two-line Arabic legend contained within a beaded or dotted circular border, reading 'al-Sultan Nadir' in large naskh script. The inscription is the primary decorative element, rendered in a robust, slightly irregular hammered style characteristic of Afsharid gold coinage. The field surrounding the legend is plain, and the flan edges show the typical irregular clipping of hand-struck Iranian gold of this period.
