| Obverse description | Central field occupied by a multi-line Persian inscription in bold nastaʿlīq script, rendered within an oval cartouche formed by a beaded inner border. The legend records the auspicious date of Nader Shah's accession (AH 1148), framed by a raised inner ring and an outer beaded border encircling the entire flan. The hammered gold flan displays characteristic irregular surfaces with well-struck, deeply incised calligraphic strokes of fine Afsharid workmanship. |
