Obverse description The entire field is occupied by a multi-line Arabic legend arranged in four horizontal bands and framed within a cartouche, reading the commemorative phrase 'Al-khayr fima waqa'' (All is for the best), whose Abjad numerical value encodes the coronation year 1148 AH. Below the cartouche, the mint name Esfahan (Isfahan) and the Hijri date 1148 appear as an inscription. The coin is struck on an irregular flan and the field bears no pictorial devices, relying entirely on the calligraphic legends executed in a bold Nasta'liq-influenced hand. The entire design is enclosed by a beaded border.
