| Obverse description | Central field occupied by a bold, multi-line nastaliq legend in high relief, reading the royal formula acknowledging sovereignty and the ruler's name Baba Khan (the pre-accession name of Fath Ali Shah). The calligraphy is rendered in a flowing, deeply struck style characteristic of late Qajar hammered gold coinage. Scattered pellets accent the field between the letter groups. The entire design is enclosed within a continuous beaded border following the irregular flan outline. |
