| Obverse description | Laureate head of Vespasian facing right, depicted with characteristic naturalistic portraiture typical of Flavian imperial coinage. The emperor's effigy shows his well-known physiognomy with a broad, strong jaw and short neck. The surrounding circular Latin legend reads IMP CAESAR VESPASIAN COS VIII, distributed around the periphery of the coin. The flan is slightly irregular, as is common for struck bronze coinage of this period. The relief is moderately high, with some surface patination obscuring finer details. |
