| Obverse description | Laureate head of Vespasian facing right, with a strongly modelled, realistic portrait characteristic of Flavian-era imperial coinage. The emperor is depicted with bare neck and truncated bust, rendered in the veristic tradition of Roman portraiture. The encircling legend reads IMP CAES VESPASIAN AVG COS III, distributed around the field. The portrait conveys the aged, sturdy features associated with Vespasian's numismatic type.
