Obverse description Laureate bust of Emperor Vespasian facing right, with draped shoulders, rendered in the characteristic realistic Flavian portrait style. The emperor's effigy displays his well-known physiognomy with strong features and a wreath of laurel encircling the head. The surrounding legend in Latin capital letters reads IMP CAESAR VESP AVG COS VIII, distributed around the periphery of the flan. The portrait occupies the central field with bold, high-relief modeling typical of Roman imperial bronze coinage of the Flavian period.
