Obverse description Laureate head of Emperor Vespasian facing right, rendered in robust, realistic style characteristic of Flavian portraiture, with a small globe positioned at the base of the neck truncation. The emperor's features are firmly modeled, displaying the characteristic square jaw and close-cropped hair of Vespasian's official iconography. The encircling Latin legend runs from lower left around the periphery of the flan. The overall composition presents the imperial effigy in a confident, authoritative manner befitting the founder of the Flavian dynasty.
