Obverse description Laureate bust of Emperor Trajan facing right, draped over the left shoulder, depicted in the naturalistic portraiture style characteristic of the Trajanic period. The emperor's effigy displays his distinctive strong features with a short neck and relatively broad face. The encircling obverse legend reads IMP CAES NERVA TRAIAN AVG GERM DACICVS P M, disposed around the bust. The coin surface shows significant green patination and wear consistent with extended circulation, yet the bust remains identifiable. The flan is slightly irregular, as is typical of hammered bronze issues of the Roman Imperial period.
