| Obverse description | Laureate and draped bust of Emperor Trajan facing right, with drapery visible on the left shoulder, rendered in the realistic portraiture style characteristic of Trajanic imperial coinage. The effigy displays the emperor's mature features with a laurel wreath crowning his head. The encircling Latin legend runs continuously around the periphery of the flan. The overall die work reflects the high standard of the Rome mint during Trajan's later reign. |
