Reverse description The personification of Victory stands in right profile, poised upon the prow of a warship (rostrum), rendered in the classical manner. She extends her right arm forward to offer a wreath of laurel, while her left hand holds a tall palm branch. Her figure is winged, draped in a flowing garment, with the S C (Senatus Consultum) mark of senatorial authorisation placed prominently in the field to either side of her lower body. The legend VICTORIA AVGVST is distributed around the periphery of the reverse field.
