Reverse description A large eagle stands facing, with wings spread and head turned to the right, perched atop a globus (sphere) symbolising Roman world dominion. The senatorial authority mark S C (Senatus Consultum) flanks the eagle in large letters to left and right of the central device, occupying the mid-field. The reverse field is broad and relatively plain, consistent with the standard Flavian as type issued under Vespasian with Titus as Caesar. The surface exhibits a mottled olive-brown and green patina with some encrustation typical of circulated bronze coinage of the period.
