Obverse description Laureate head of Titus facing right, portrayed with the characteristic curly hair of the Flavian dynasty. The bust is bare or lightly draped at the shoulder truncation. The encircling Latin legend reads T CAES VESPASIAN IMP P TR P COS II, identifying Titus in his role as Caesar and co-regent under Vespasian during his second consulship. The portrait is rendered in the vigorous, naturalistic style typical of Flavian imperial coinage struck at the Rome mint. A beaded or plain border frames the coin's edge.
