Obverse description Bare head of Tiberius facing right, rendered in the restrained classical style characteristic of early Imperial portraiture. The emperor's effigy displays a mature, idealized physiognomy with a prominent brow and firm jaw. The encircling legend reads TI CAESAR DIVI AVG F AVGVST IMP VII, distributed around the portrait in the field. The flan exhibits the slightly irregular, hand-struck character typical of Roman aes coinage of this period.
