Obverse description Bare laureate head of Tiberius facing right, rendered in the provincial Hispano-Roman style with boldly modelled facial features and naturalistic hair. The laureate wreath is rendered with individual leaves clearly delineated. The legend TI CAESAR AVGVSTVS runs around the periphery of the flan, partially visible against a dotted border. The portrait, though provincial in execution, conveys imperial dignity consistent with Tiberian iconography as adopted by the Celtiberian mint of Ercavica.
