| Reverse description | Confronted bare busts of Nero Caesar and Drusus Caesar facing one another at centre, each rendered in relief with short hair and military bearing, set against a plain field. The two heirs of Tiberius are depicted symmetrically, their portraits nearly touching at the centre of the die. A dotted border frames the design, and the encircling legend C V I N C NERO ET DRVSVS CAESARES QVINQ identifies the colonial magistrates (quinquennales) of Carthago Nova and names both princes. The composition reflects the standard honorific type used by Hispanian colonies to celebrate members of the imperial house. |
