| Reverse description | The reverse depicts the winged figure of Victory advancing left, wearing a flowing chiton, her wings spread prominently behind her. She holds a wreath extended forward in her right hand and a palm branch over her left shoulder, rendered in confident relief against an open field. The senatorial authorization mark S C (Senatus Consultum) is displayed in large letters to either side of the figure, flanking Victory at the left and right of the field respectively. A beaded border encircles the entire design. The composition reflects the standard Neronian iconography of Victory employed on aes coinage to celebrate imperial military authority. |
