Obverse description Bare-headed bust of Emperor Nero facing right, rendered with characteristic youthful features and the emperor's distinctive thick, curly hair arranged in the Julio-Claudian style. A small globe is depicted at the point of the neck truncation, symbolising universal dominion. The portrait is executed in high relief typical of Neronian bronze coinage, with a boldly modelled face and strong jawline. The surrounding field bears a beaded border, and the legend runs continuously around the periphery identifying the emperor with his full imperial titulature.
