Obverse description Bare-headed laureate bust of Nero facing right, depicted with characteristic broad neck and youthful features consistent with his later portraiture. The emperor is shown draped, with the bust truncated at the shoulder. The encircling Latin legend reads IMP NERO CAESAR AVG GERM, arranged around the periphery of the flan. The die work is typical of Neronian Rome Mint production, with a bold, if somewhat coarsely struck, imperial effigy rendered in high relief. The flan shows natural irregularity and patination consistent with a hammered bronze issue.

Reverse description Central type depicts the façade of the Temple of Janus — a rectangular, arch-topped structure shown in three-quarter perspective with closed double doors, symbolising the closing of the Janus gates to mark a state of universal peace. The temple is rendered with architectural detail including a latticed or barred door visible within the archway. The senatorial authorisation mark S C (Senatus Consultum) flanks the central type to either side. The surrounding legend, distributed around the periphery, proclaims the peace of the Roman people established throughout the world. The reverse composition is a celebrated type of the Neronian aes coinage and carries significant political and propagandistic resonance.
