| Obverse description | Laureate bust of Nero facing left, draped at the shoulder, rendered in bold relief characteristic of Neronian portraiture. The emperor's effigy displays his distinctive youthful features with thick neck and styled hair beneath the laurel wreath. The encircling Latin legend reads IMP NERO CAESAR AVG GERM, disposed around the periphery of the flan. The coin exhibits a brown patina with areas of green encrustation typical of excavated bronze coinage of the period. The flan is slightly irregular in shape, consistent with hand-hammered production at the Rome mint. |
