| Obverse description | Bare-headed portrait bust of Emperor Nero facing right, with a small globe at the base of the neck truncation, rendered in the Roman imperial portrait tradition with characteristic thick neck and heavy facial features. The laureate legend encircles the effigy around the full periphery of the flan. The portrait is boldly struck in high relief, consistent with early Neronian coinage of the Rome mint. |
