(Translation: Emperor Caesar Trajan Hadrian Augustus)
Reverse description Tyche of Petra seated left on rocks, turreted and draped, holding a branch or palm in her extended right hand and resting her left arm upon the rocky ground, a reference to the mountainous terrain of the Nabataean capital. A small figure, likely the river-god Ares or a local deity, appears below or beside her in a subsidiary position. The surrounding Greek legend reads ΠΕΤΡΑ ΜΗΤΡΟΠΟΛΙC, identifying the issuing city as the metropolis of Petra. The composition reflects the standard Tyche reverse type widely employed on civic bronzes of Roman Arabia.
