Obverse description Laureate draped bust of Hadrian facing right, rendered in high relief with fine detail to the laurel wreath and curling hair. The emperor is depicted with his characteristic close-cropped beard, a Hadrianic innovation marking a departure from the clean-shaven convention of his predecessors. The bust is shown with paludamentum (military cloak) fastened at the right shoulder, lending an imperial and martial gravitas to the portrait. The circumferential legend IMP CAESAR TRAIANVS HADRIANVS AVG runs around the border in clear Latin capitals.
