| Obverse description | Bare-shouldered, laureate bust of Emperor Hadrian facing right, rendered with characteristic short beard and finely detailed hair. The effigy displays the distinctive physiognomic traits associated with Hadrianic portraiture, including a broad forehead and strong jaw. The encircling Latin legend runs from lower left to upper right around the bust, divided across the field. The portrait is executed in the accomplished high-relief style of the Roman imperial mint at Rome during Hadrian's mature reign. |
