Obverse description Laureate and draped bust of Emperor Galba facing right, rendered in high relief with characteristically aged, stern features typical of Julio-Claudian portraiture. The effigy displays a broad, rounded head with short laurel wreath and drapery visible at the truncation of the shoulder. The surrounding circular legend reads SER GALBA IMP CAES AVG, distributed around the rim in bold Latin capitals. The flan shows the irregular, slightly convex fabric characteristic of Roman imperial hammered bronzes of this period.
