| Obverse description | Bare laureate head of Galba facing right, with a globe positioned at the point of the neck truncation, a detail characteristic of Galban coinage signifying dominion over the world. The portrait renders the emperor with realistic, aged features in the veristic Roman tradition, with strong brow, prominent nose, and tight lips. The surrounding legend is incuse-struck in capital Latin characters, running clockwise from the lower left.
