Obverse description Bare-headed, draped bust of Emperor Galba facing right, portrayed with a strongly individualised, aged physiognomy characteristic of Flavian-era veristic portraiture. The emperor wears a paludamentum fastened at the shoulder, rendered with bold, deeply cut folds. The surrounding circular legend reads SER SVLPI GALBA IMP CAESAR AVG P M TR P, divided around the bust. The die work is robust and confident, typical of the Rome mint during the brief Galbine reign of AD 68–69.
