| Obverse description | Laureate and draped bust of Domitian, as Caesar, facing right, rendered in confident Flavian style with naturalistic facial features and layered hair beneath the laurel wreath. The portrait presents a youthful representation of the future emperor, with visible drapery at the shoulder truncation. The surrounding legend, incuse within a beaded border, identifies Domitian by his dynastic and consular titles. The effigy occupies the central field with strong relief typical of early Flavian aes coinage. |
