| Obverse description | Laureate head of Domitian facing right, rendered in bold relief with the characteristic portraiture of the Flavian period. The emperor's effigy displays a sturdy neck and strong facial features typical of official imperial coinage. The circumferential legend in Latin runs around the periphery of the flan, identifying the emperor by his filiation and consular title. The flan is slightly irregular, consistent with hammered production of the period. |
