Reverse description Moneta, the personification of the Roman mint, stands facing left in a composed, draped figure. In her extended right hand she holds a balance or scales, symbolic of monetary equity and standardization, while her left hand supports a cornucopiae, emblematic of abundance and imperial prosperity. The senatorial authority authorizing the bronze coinage is indicated by the S C (Senatus Consultum) legend flanking the figure in the field. The reverse legend is disposed around the upper periphery of the flan.
