| Obverse description | Bare head of Augustus facing right, rendered in the provincial style characteristic of Hispanian municipal coinage of the Augustan period. The portrait displays stylized hair locks swept forward over the brow, with clearly delineated facial features despite the coin's heavily patinated and worn surface. The legend MVN CAL appears to the left and right of the bust, referencing the municipium of Calagurris, with IIVIR denoting the duoviri magistrates responsible for the issue. The field exhibits a deep green patina consistent with long-term burial, with areas of reddish bronze visible through the encrustation. |
