Obverse description Bare head of Augustus facing right, rendered in the classicizing portrait style characteristic of Augustan provincial coinage. The effigy displays finely engraved hair combed forward over the brow in the characteristic Augustan manner, with short, layered strands. The legend BILBILI appears vertically in the left field, serving as the mint name rather than a surrounding inscription. The portrait occupies the central field and is of moderate relief, consistent with Hispanian provincial workshop production of the early Imperial period.
