Obverse description Bare, radiate head of Divus Augustus facing left, rendered in the idealised portrait style characteristic of Julio-Claudian and Flavian posthumous commemorative coinage. The radiate crown, composed of evenly spaced pointed rays, encircles the head and serves as the principal divine attribute. The portrait is modelled with a strong, slightly stylised profile, with close-cropped hair visible beneath the rays. The circular Latin legend DIVVS AVGVSTVS PATER runs along the periphery of the field, occupying both the upper and lower registers.
