| Reverse description | A togate priest, depicted in left-facing profile, drives a yoke of two oxen also moving to the left, performing the ritual act of ploughing (the sulcus primigenius) that symbolises the foundation of a Roman colony. The animals are rendered with naturalistic detail, their heads lowered as they pull the plough. In the right field, a stylised figure or standard may be partially visible. The duoviri's names and the colonial name CAESARAVGVSTA appear in the surrounding legend, with II VIR inscribed in the exergue, identifying the two local magistrates responsible for the issue. |
