| Obverse description | Bare-headed, laureate and draped bust of Antoninus Pius facing right, rendered in high relief with finely detailed hair and laurel wreath. The emperor's paludamentum is visible over the left shoulder, conveying imperial authority. A circular legend in Latin runs along the periphery of the flan, identifying the emperor by his full titulature. The portrait displays the characteristic mature features of Antoninus Pius as represented in early issues of his reign, consistent with his accession in 138 AD. |
