Obverse description Central view of the Tour César, the medieval keep of Provins, depicted in detailed relief rising from its surrounding stone ramparts with vegetation at the base. The legend ARQUEBUSIERS DE PROVINS (S. ET MRN.) arcs around the upper field, with the engraver's name A.H. BOUCHON in the lower field and the date 1842 in the exergue.
