| Reverse description | A bold voided cross pattée dominates the reverse field, its four arms expanding toward the coin's edge and dividing the legend into four segments. The center of the cross features a distinctive gilded incuse octagonal boss, retaining traces of gold plating, a hallmark of this Aksumite silver denomination. The Greek inscription ΘЄ ΟΥ XA PI is distributed across the four quadrants formed by the arms of the cross, invoking divine grace. The overall design is consistent with late fifth-century Aksumite religious and epigraphic conventions. |
