| Reverse description | A highly detailed depiction of a Roman camp gate (praetorium or porta principalis) rendered in three-quarter architectural perspective, showing two flanking towers with crenellated parapets above a central arched gateway. Four figures, representing the four Tetrarchs, are visible standing within or atop the gate structure. The reverse legend VICTORIAE - SARMATICAE is divided on either side of the gateway, celebrating victories over the Sarmatians. The mintmark SMNΓ appears in the exergue, denoting the third officina of the Nicomedia mint, and the whole design is enclosed by a beaded border. |
